Custom Techniques are an integral part of World of Vigor as they allow characters to further tune their build and flavor their character through custom content. Techniques also include Stances and Buffs, which have a separate set or guidelines which are covered below.
Below is the expected template to be used for creating Techniques:

Technique Point Cost
All techniques cost Technique Points to purchase and upgrade. The following is the cost to purchase and upgrade each Rank of Technique:
D - 500 TP
C - 1000 TP
B - 1500 TP
A - 2000 TP
Technique Number Guideline
When creating Techniques of a certain rank, there are specific guidelines to follow when establishing Drains for the Techniques, Required Perks, and what to consider when distributing Mastery Points. Drains are set depending on the Rank and whether it uses Energy, Stamina, or both. The Points listed with each Mastery (New, Expert, & Mastered) determine the total number of Points you can use for the Technique. Any effects on the Clauses of Techniques (negative and positive) have to add up to equal the Mastery Points of that Rank.
Multi-Hit Techniques are only available for creation at C-Rank. When creating a Multi-Hit technique, it lowers the Mastery Points by 5 across all Mastery Levels.
D Ranks
Energy/Stamina Drain: 100 Stamina or Energy (150 Total Stamina and Energy when combining both)
Perk Requirement: Relevant T1 Perk
C Ranks
Energy/Stamina Drain: 300 Stamina or Energy (500 Total Stamina and Energy when combining both)
Perk Requirement: Relevant T2 Perk
Mastery Points: New, +5 / Expert, +7 / Mastered, +10
B Ranks
Energy/Stamina Drain: 750 Stamina or Energy (950 Total Stamina and Energy when combining both)
Perk Requirement: Relevant T3 Perk
Mastery Points: New, +10 / Expert, +12 / Mastered, +15
A Ranks
Energy/Stamina Drain: 1000 Stamina or Energy (1300 Total Stamina and Energy when combining both)
Perk Requirement: Relevant T4 Perk
Mastery Points: New, +15 / Expert, +17 / Mastered, +20
Stances & Buffs
Stances & Buffs are only available for creation beginning at C-Rank. They gain "free use" stat points that they can spend to upgrade the stats it gives. You can only apply 50% of the total stat points into a given stat. For example: B-Rank Stances & Buffs can have 7 points in one stat and 8 points in another maximum. Stances & Buffs are Unmasterable Techniques, meaning they cannot be upgraded and are essentially a one-time buy. Stances only drain Stamina. Buffs only drain Energy.
There are specific guidelines when creating Stances & Buffs which are linked >here<. A short version can be found below:
C Ranks
10 points for stats
2 Clauses
100 Drain
B Ranks
15 points for stats
3 Clauses
200 Drain
A Ranks
20 points for stats
4 Clauses
300 Drain
Unless otherwise stated, you have to use different clauses and they cannot affect stats that are being increased by the base points. he percentage of total points listed after certain clauses is determined by the Rank of the technique. Below are a list of Clauses available to use on Stances & Buffs:
X vs X, inflict X.
X increases by X each round, cap #. (75% of total)
X vs X, reduce X by #. (50% of total)
Increase X by # each off-hit or greater, cap #. Resets each round. (100% of total)
Decrease X by # each off-hit or greater, cap #. Resets each round. (75% of total)
Increase X by X/5 (spiritual increasing physical or vice versa), cap #. (120% of total)
In exchange for not being able to use Y (item), the user gains # - # X, based on what Y is. (50% - 100% of the total.)
The user’s range is increased by 1 tile.
Once per turn, 1x1 AoE on attack (2 clause slots, Buff only).
Increase AoE size by 2x2 (1x1 -> 3x3 -> 5x5, etc).
Reducing drain of a technique/ability by the Buffs/Stances drain.
Increase the duration of X by 1 turn.
The user can use X’s (weapon/martial art) techniques in this stance (Stance only).
This stance is not disabled when Prone (Stance only, requires Judo/Jiujitsu/Aikido).
Stick closely to the guidelines listed. If the technique overall is too weak, it'll be buffed.
No decimal values in base stats for stances and buffs.
When you've made the edits requested to your technique, if any are, respond to your thread stating that you've edited the technique.
Please make sure that your clauses are properly spaced together, and punctuated properly.
